Heather and I just finished this really nice meal here at the Pie Pizzeria, and we both enjoyed some really great pizza, delicious salad and drinks.
What’s interesting is a lot of people believe that you can’t have this kind of stuff and be slimming down. The great thing about Enjoy Yourself Thin is you can simply find out exactly what your body needs and still be able to enjoy amazing things like pizza.
One of the tools that we use is a Macro-nutrient tracker, I personally use the MyFitnessPal app. You can get it free, you just download it (there’s a paid and a free version, I just use the free version). You simply find out what your macro-nutrient count is for the day.
Through a Metabolism Assessment, you find out exactly how many grams of protein, carbohydrates, and fat you need each day. Then, you plug into the app everything you are going to eat that day and it’s like a bank. You don’t have to be 100% clean eating every single day, so you don’t have to be eating boiled chicken and broccoli for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I mean, you could do that if you really enjoyed it, but the purpose is to enjoy yourself thin.
Just now at dinner, I put in the amount of pizza I was going to eat into MyFitnessPal, and it told me exactly how many macro-nutrients were in it, how many calories and everything, and it told me how many I had left to eat for the rest of the day.
As long as you hit those main macro-nutrients and calories and eat exactly what you need, you can fit in everything that you love and enjoy. That is how you are able to enjoy your chocolate every single day. If you want to eat a doughnut, you can eat a doughnut, as long as you fit it in.
Again, it’s just figuring out exactly what your body needs through a Metabolism and Weight Reduction Assessment from Feel Well, Live Well.
Then you download the MyFitnessPal app, and you plug everything in, and as long as you stay within your target macro-nutrient range and your caloric range, your weight is going to drop, yes, even when eating pizza, chocolate and everything else you could possibly want.
Last year as I began my body transformation, I thought, “I really want to take Heather on a date to the movies, and I really want to enjoy one of those great big hot dogs, a big plate of cheesy Nachos, and a great big soda.” I was able to do that because I simply plugged it into the app and stayed within my macro-nutrient and caloric range for that day.
And I was even lighter on the scale the next day. Boom.
You can do this too. Simply find out how much fat, carbohydrates, protein and calories are in the food you want to eat for that day, and then stay within that range, and you get to enjoy all the things that you love.
Now, something about protein, most people as they are reducing weight obviously want to maintain as much muscle as possible, if not grow and increase their muscle mass as they reduce their weight.
Kind of the magic formula, if you will, is taking your current body weight, multiplying it by .8 – 1.2, and then consuming that many grams of protein per day. For example, my starting weight right now is I’m right between 175-180 and I consume approximately 175-180 grams of protein every single day. That’s one thing you can do.
Your carbohydrates and fats are depending on what type of diet you enjoy the most. For example, if you really enjoy the ketogenic diet, if that works for you, fantastic, you can do that as long as you are getting enough protein. If you’re someone like me, I love me some carbs, I know Heather does too. Go ahead, enjoy some pizza, breads, and pastas if that’s what you desire.
As long as you are getting enough protein, and you are within your caloric range, fantastic, you can do that. Find what works for you.
One more time, you can enjoy yourself thin. You can still eat these amazing foods that you love. Instead of just doing a temporary diet that you crash and burn, this is a way you can make it a lifestyle of physical wellness and enjoyment.
